Central Montana Master Naturalist

The Master Naturalist Program has run 6 years in Helena, led by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the Montana Discovery Foundation, our partners the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, Montana Land Reliance, Montana Natural Heritage Program, Montana Native Plant Society, and Helena Garden Club have made the course a great success. This year we’re bringing back a full course with 10 exciting topics!

This will be a virtual course that takes place over 12 weeks that focuses on learning more about Montana’s natural history. Some of the topics that we’ll cover include animal identification, fire ecology, indigenous peoples’ role in Montana natural history, and more. Learn how to nature journal, utilize guidebooks, and train your eye to notice more about the world around you.
The course is $355 and limited to 20 individuals. There will be an overnight field trip at the conclusion of the course (May 17-18) at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch to put our skills into practice.

Beginning March 4th, we are offering a 12 week course held virtually on Tuesdays, 5-7pm. Cost of the course is $355 and is limited to 20 individuals. Register HERE.

Montana Master Naturalist certification is provided through the Montana Natural History Center, and we are recognized as a certifying provider.
